Estonian Nautical School is the only vocational training institution in Estonia which conducts vocational maritime training. Curriculums are in accordance with International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW), 1978 and the ISO 9001:2015 quality standard.
There are the following specialities which are 3.- 4. level according Estonian Qualifications Framework:
- Officer in charge of navigational watch on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more (EstQF 4), study time 4 years (based on basic education) or 2,5 years (based on general secondary education)
- Engineer officer in charge of watch on a ship powered by diesel engines with main propulsion machinery of 750 kW propulsion power or more (EstQF 4), study time 4 years (based on basic education) or 2,5 years (based on general secondary education)
- Ship’s motorman (EstQF 3), study time 8 months (no educational requirements)
- Rating as able seafarer deck (ESTQ 3), study time 7 months (no educational requirements)
- Ship's electro-technical rating (EstQF 4), study time 3 months (based on basic education)
- Inland waters navigator (EstQF 3), study time 2 years (no educational requirements)
The language of instructions is Estonian.
